What factors play a role in the Kashmir conflicts?

First of all, Kashmir’s history plays a big role in Kashmir’s conflicts. For ages, Kashmir has been in conflicts, and those wars resulted in disagreements between Pakistan and India for whom the big region with many religions belongs to. These disagreements are still fought out today, with stronger forces every day.

All different religions play another role in the Kashmir conflicts. Though biggest part of Kashmir is Muslim, there are a lot of other religions in Kashmir. Far back in history, there was made the decision to dividing Pakistan and India in Muslim and non-Muslim regions. Pakistan was given all Muslim regions, and India all other regions. With the Kashmir wars, most of Kashmir wanted to be with Pakistan, since the biggest part of Kashmir was Muslim. It was obvious for most Muslims in that time to want to belong to Pakistan. The problem here was given with the fact that India also already had a lot of Muslims, and disagreed with all Muslims in Kashmir wanting to belong to Pakistan. India on their side was joined by most other regions and religions from Kashmir. Wars resulted and still India and Pakistan fight over Kashmir.

Another factor playing a role in Kashmir’s conflicts are the Kashmiri rivers. Kashmir has a few major rivers, all starting in the Indian part of Kashmir or more eastern. This causes fear in Pakistani and Kashmiri folks, for India might decide to build a dam, which would block water sources for all Pakistan, which would cause Pakistan to have little to no water left, except for rainfall. If Pakistan would be close to winning over Kashmir, there would be a chance India would build dams. This would make victory much harder for Pakistan, and would cause a lot of difficulties in the future.
